We have pods & cabins, tent pitches and a spot for small & medium sized campervans. (Sorry, our site is not suitable for large campervans or caravans.) Roof tents are allowed on the camper van pitch, but are not permitted on the camping field.

There are large, fun to use barrows available for moving your luggage from the car park, as vehicles are not permitted in the pod or camping areas. Bring your own bedding, or hire bedding and pillows from us. Travel cot hire is also available.

The pods & cabins all have a kettle, lighting and USB charging point. They’re also fully insulated, and have double glazing and a heater. Great for all year around! Each have their own individual pitches, with a picnic bench and a fire-pit.

There is also the larger communal campfire on site - a great place to enjoy the company of friends old and new. We can always supply a guitar if you forget your own, and we have marshmallows! For a gaming-free stay, there is currently no Wi-Fi. However, the mobile signal is good.

There’s also a small common room housing a shared fridge, microwave and kettle, together with a few games, books and maps. There’s also a giant Jenga and giant Pick up Sticks. Supplies We have wood for the firepit or campfire available at reasonable cost. Each bag is supplied with kindling and a firelighter. Charcoal is also available for BBQ’s. We also have for sale instant BBQ's, camping gas cookers, note-book BBQ's and basic sleeping bags. Bedding and pillow hire is available if required.

Coffee Cupboard At the front of the property is an honesty coffee shop. It’s actually a small walk-in cupboard with tea, coffee, biscuits, instant porridge & pot noodles for sale. On site we have the camping field, a small woodland and the paddock, all of which you are welcome to wander around. There’s a handy guide book available showing 8 local short walks around the village and the beautiful river Irfon.

Llangammach Wells is also fortunate to have two long-distance footpaths running through it, with a third just a mile away. The first is the 140-mile Heart of Wales Line Trail running roughly South-West from Craven Arms to Llanelli. This runs loosely along the route of the lovely railway line that winds down through Mid Wales. www.heart-of-wales.co.uk

The second is the wonderful Via Beata, which means Way of Blessing. This is a 400 mile pilgrimage route running East to West from Lowestoft in Suffolk to St Davids in Pembrokeshire. Irfon Valley Pods & Camping are also a Way Station for the route, displaying a superb carving, which is one of many pieces of art work at various locations along the route. www.viabeata.co.uk

The third is the Epynt Way. This is a 50 mile route around the Mod Sennybridge Training Area. It offers a superb walking, mountain biking or horse riding challenge well away from the crowds on Pen y Fan. www.epyntway.org

If more walks are needed, nearby there are also the Wye Valley Walk and the Cambrian Way.

Local area, attractions and events

We are on the edge of Llangammarch Wells, a village the river Irfon runs through on it’s way from Abergwesyn to Builth Wells, where it joins the river Wye. Years ago Llangammarch held annual horse fairs, with people coming from all over the UK to buy the horses and ponies.

Nearby at Builth Wells is the show ground of the RWAS, home of the largest agricultural show in Europe. Other events including dog shows, motor rallies and antique fairs are also held regularly here. https://rwas.wales/whats-on/

Bog Snorkelling! Four miles away is the smallest town in Britain, Llanwrtyd Wells, also home of the World Bog Snorkelling Championships. Other major events based in the town are the annual Man vs Horse race, the Welsh Open Stone Skipping Championships and the Real Ale wobble. You can see details of these and many others on the Green Events website. https://www.green-events.co.uk/

About 5 miles away is Crychan Forest. The forest has marked walking, horse riding, cycling and carriage driving trails, and also hosts motor rallying events.

Not too far by car you can reach the Elan Valley and it’s famous reservoirs, (40mins) the National Show-caves of Wales and their dinosaurs, (40mins), and beautiful Brecon, (30mins). About an hour away are Merthyr Tydfil with it’s huge Trago Mills shop (south), or Aberystwyth and the sea-side (north -west)

The cabins offered a warm refuge after hiking all day. Loved the fire breaks and the quiet surroundings.
